PROGRAM
ROHM Theatre Kyoto launched this new education and training project in 2019, aimed at junior high school first graders through to 18-year-olds. Across three types of courses (theatre, dance, and media and performance), it features guest instructors who are artists and engineers working at the forefront of their fields at home and abroad. In the inaugural year program, 70 students participated.
For this year’s program, the curriculum allows participants to come into touch with the work of the instructors and the contexts for it while moving their bodies, thinking for themselves, and experiencing what it is like to make your own work. In this way, the program will cultivate human resources replete in the creativity that will lead the performing arts in Japan in 10 or 20 years’ time.
