The Whereabouts of Performance: Introduction to Traditional Japanese Performing Arts

This introductory course is led by Yuichi Kinoshita, the head of Kinoshita-Kabuki and well known for his prolific writings and teaching on classical and traditional performing arts. Ongoing since 2021, the program this year follows on from previous sessions about bunraku, Shochiku Shinkigeki comedy, and nogaku (noh and kyogen) to examine three more forms of traditional Japanese performance.
