Launched in 2010, Kyoto’s leading international contemporary performing arts event returns with ROHM Theatre Kyoto as its new main venue, transforming Kyoto into a city of cultural experimentation.

Kyoto Experiment:
Kyoto International Performing Arts Festival has been held every autumn since 2010, showing leading performing arts from around the world and aspiring to transform the festival experience into a place for experimentation. In 2016, it will be held two times, in the spring and autumn, as part of the Opening Program of ROHM Theatre Kyoto.

This program is curated by specialists from other fields in order to present examples of contemporary performing arts from a different perspective to the main festival program. It showcases works by up-and-coming Japanese artists.
