Depicting early Showa-era Kyoto through the newspaper 'Saturday'.
At that time, coffee shops around Kyoto carried a newspaper called 'Saturday'.
Its publisher was Raitaro Saito, a pool actor in the studio system at Shochiku Studios.
Amidst the escalating war on the continent, he boldly voiced opinions critical of the government,
blending commoner perspectives and humor.
Centered on the activities of Raitaro Saito, this work depicts how individuals connected
and lived their lives within the historical context of the 1930s.
