Following on from the Seiji Ozawa Music Academy Opera Project production of Puccini’s La bohème in 2023, this staging is directed by David Kneuss and with sets and costumes by Robert Perdziola. The production is a revival of one premiered at Hyogo Performing Arts Center in 2014. The conductor is Diego Matheuz, principal conductor of Seiji Ozawa Music Academy, and the staging is accompanied by the Seiji Ozawa Music Academy Orchestra, which features musicians from Japan and around Asia selected by audition, and closely tutored by members of the Saito Kinen Orchestra and other mentors.
