A unique collaboration between Kinoshita-Kabuki and Toshiki Okada!
Known for rediscovering the potential of kabuki for contemporary audiences, Kinoshita-Kabuki welcomes a new director to create its first new production in around five years. And that new director is none other than Toshiki Okada, whose ambitious output with his company chelfitsch recently includes translation noh plays and adapting the format of noh theater for his work. Based on revisions and supervision by Yuichi Kinoshita, and a script by Okada, this is a bold version of the much-performed masterpiece by Tsuruya Nanboku IV.
