PROGRAM
The 22nd installment in this series of free performances of music of various genres.
Recorder player and musicologist Kiichi Suganuma re-examines music history through the twin perspectives of performance practice and theoretical research, introducing new kinds of sound in events with a diverse lineup.
For this performance, his guests are flutist Yuri Matsuzaki and soprano Kanae Mizobuchi, members of the Germany- and Japan-based GEN-ON Channel. Exploring the collaboration between live-performance and pre-recording, they will present a wide repertoire from across the ages, from improvisations with medieval melodies to contemporary mixed music. The performance is followed by an exhibition of scores related to the performed works, examples of overdubbing, and a sound installation. Discover a new musical experience that goes beyond just listening.
