A highly acclaimed play portraying a theatre company dealing with the reversion of Okinawa to Japan in 1972, and showing the importance of dialogue between those with differing opinions
Premiered in 2015, it portrays rehearsals by a theatre company for a performance of a play about the reversion of Okinawa to Japan in 1972. Shuttling between the present and 1972, Nine Stray Okinawans reveals the inner emotions and varied and complex attitudes of the people living in Okinawa both today and in the past.

A hearing loop (also known as an audio induction loop) is a system for amplifying onstage sounds by relaying them from a transmitter to special headset. Audiences who use telecoil hearing aids or cochlear implants can receive the sounds from the transmitter without the special headset.
