Compagnie XY is a world-famous French contemporary circus troupe known for its collective acrobatics using the body to create beautiful scenes through incredible acrobatic skill and teamwork that has won acclaim across the globe. Premiered in 2019, Möbius features nineteen artists moving in unison like a murmuration of starlings. The performance takes place on a stage with no set, focusing the attention entirely on the artists’ unrivaled collective movements as they jump or leap in the air, seamlessly crafting stunning vistas.

France’s leading contemporary circus troupe, Compagnie XY has garnered attention around the world for its incredible artistry and remarkable acrobatic performance through such performances as Le Grand C (2009) for seventeen acrobats and Il n’est pas encore minuit… (2014). It is known for collaborating each time with different choreographers.

Rachid Ouramdane

After graduating from the National Center for Contemporary Dance in Angers in 1992, Rachid Ouramdane began his career as a choreographer and performer. He served as associate director of Bonlieu Scène nationale in Annecy from 2005 and Théâtre de la Ville in Paris from 2010, and then as co-director of CCN2 – Centre Chorégraphique National de Grenoble from January 2016 with the circus artist Yoann Bourgeois. Ouramdane’s productions in Japan include Exposition Universelle (World Fair) in 2012 and TORDRE in 2018. In April 2021, he was appointed director of Théâtre National de Chaillot.

* Tickets are not required for children under age 3 on the laps of their guardians.
