The fourth year of a new program supporting the next generation of artistic talent to create work in Kyoto
Osamu Shikichi is a choreographer, director, and dancer. Inspired by the affinity between the poses of human figures in sculpture and choreography in dance, and by the notion of the living body as a medium, he started his performance practice fully while studying in Berlin. His work explores his interests in capturing a sense of our own reality through others and in confirming and blurring the boundaries of the body. This work is based on an installation-performance premiered in 2019, which he is here reconfiguring with a new performer.
