PROGRAM
Dancer and choreographer Masako Yasumoto has worked widely, not only in the dance world but also in theatre, music, and film. In 2012, she went on hiatus to relocate and start a family, returning in 2017 with a raw performance exploring her own life and anguishes related to maternity. For her latest work, she goes back to the origin of dance and focuses on the state of the body as released from all meaning and symbols. “This includes the hope that if there is some kind of relationship that first emerges when we are liberated from meaning,” says Yasumoto, “then a kiss probably ceases to be a kiss.”
