Japanese Culture Through All the Senses “Creating Kagura ” (title TBC)

This series creates and stages new performances transcending existing traditional arts categories and schools as part of a campaign for a National Kyoto Traditional Performing Arts Culture Center (name TBC). This time the project looks at kagura, the ancient form of music and dance that was a dedicated to the gods. Ordinary Kyoto residents will join with music, dance, theatre, and arts practitioners to create a new form of kagura.
