PROGRAM
The twenty-fifth edition in this talk series is a tie-up event with the production of The Burning Bride, a play based on research done in the Kurdish community in Japan and exploring questions of coexistence and exclusion. The talk features Miyuki Ikuta, the Bungakuza director and member of the theatre group Riseiteki-na-Henzintachi who uses theatre to investigate urgent social issues, and the social worker Yuma Osawa, whose publications include Social Welfare and Foreigners (2023, Akashi Shoten) and who is part of the support team at Tsukuroi Tokyo Fund. They will think together about how we can use the imagination to consider the people with whom we live, learning about situations and utilizing theatrical approaches that get closer to others through our imaginations.
