Grammy Award winner Jeff von der Schmidt × contemporary music group Ensemble Kujoyama

This concert includes performances of a work by William Kraft, the star percussionist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and a piece he wrote with his wife, Joan Huang, and works by Vu Nhat Tan, the Vietnamese composer who was also active in France, and Lou Harrison and John Cage, who were both heavily influenced by Eastern philosophy. It is a choice of lineup unique to Schmidt, who had a strong bond with all these composers. Enjoy these highlights of the new music of LA, imbued with hope for recovery from the recent forest fires that devastated the city.
