A revival of the play first produced by the ROHM Theatre Kyoto Repertory Premiere series in 2020, it portrays the people who live in a certain seaside town.

Crisis at the Cultural Center is the second play written by Masataka Matsuda for the ROHM Theatre Kyoto repertoire. Following 2021 ’s Seaside Town, playwright and director Masataka Matsuda returns with another new play depicting life in his hometown of Nagasaki. Seaside Town was written by Masataka Matsuda especially for the ROHM Theatre Kyoto Repertory Premiere program. Long based in Kyoto and now in Tokyo, it was his first time to direct one of his own plays in Kyoto in almost ten years. Going back to a play script format while also further developing the creative approaches that marebito theater company has cultivated, the well-received play honed in on the true essence of presenting a story onstage. This is its long-awaited revival.
